“ Barrio Tacos in Portsmouth is a fantastic taco bar in a festive environment with so many options that it may be a bit overwhelming - in a good way - to some. These people will make a taco out of anything and everything. If you want a kitchen sink taco they will make it! (just kidding) The El Jefe selections change regularly (Chicken Curry Tacos!) but many folks will just check off the boxes on a long list to customize their own out of the endless options. They fancy themselves a tequila and whiskey bar as well with a nicely stocked variety of both. The margaritas are beyond excellent. So there you have it- great tacos and margaritas, and a nice safe staggering walk back to the Sheraton or one of the many other hotels nearby. Also a short distance from the ferry to Isles of Shoals. Highly recommended! ”

My husband's seafood taco had a strong lime flavoring. He wasn't a fan, but I didn't have an issue when I tried a bite of his. The Margarita flight was excellent! My favorite was the Blackberry, also big kudos to them for giving a flavor options for the flight. Being an FD Supervisor at a local hotel this is one of my top recommend this places to checkout when they get into town late. ”

“ Great place to spend Cinco de Mayo! There is outdoor seating that is uncovered and they were not serving the patio today. We started with chips and salsa roja. The chips are on the salty side but I love salt. The salsa is fantastic. Slight smokiness and mild spice so it should work well for everyone. We also got the guacamole and queso. The serving size of the guac is very reasonable for the price but the queso is a huge serving! With just 2 of us at the table we had a meal just between salsa, guac, and queso. We also got a margarita pitcher to share. The casa margaritas are delicious and we'll come back again just because of those. The design your own taco format is a little overwhelming since there are so many options. I wouldn't get anything with chicken again but the pulled pork was delicious and the serving amount was fair. I tried the bombshell and green goddess shells and for the upcharge I wasn't impressed with either. Although I do like the structural integrity of soft shell wrapped crunchy shells so I would do the green goddess for future visits. We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning! ”
